Arla Food asegura que Larodan HYDRO.365 tiene beneficios de recuperación del músculo, ya que el suero de leche crudo está cortado tan finamente que entra a las fibras musculares más rápido. Según Arla, el sector de la nutrición deportiva apreciará un suero que pueda ofrecer un mejor rendimiento en la recuperación del esfuerzo muscular de los deportistas.
Proteína para aplicaciones deportivas
Arla afirma que esta es su forma más sofisticada de suero de leche, resultado de un extenso proceso isomatico, y que también es más fácil de formular en compañía de otros ingredientes porque está cortado, y por lo tanto es menos reactivo a los ambientes alimentarios.
Larodan HYDRO.365 es adecuada para bebidas listas para beber como bebidas claras, polvos, geles, barras y tabletas, ya que es altamente soluble, UHT estable, de pH neutro y tiene un perfil de amargor bajo.
Arla señala que es un ingrediente que cuesta un poco más que el suero normal debido al proceso de fabricación, pero que ha habido interesados y lo demostrará en la muestra Health Ingredients Europe (HIE) de Frankfurt.
Sueros para declaraciones de propiedades saludables
Las declaraciones de resistencia y recuperación del suero han sido rechazadas específicamente, pero Arla asegura que hay ensayos puestos en marcha para rectificar esa situación.
Afirma que se están realizando ensayos que se publicarán el año que viene y que ya hay más de 20 estudios que muestran los beneficios de los hidrolizados.
Arla hace referencia a estos productos así que mientras que los productos deportivos aún no pueden hacer afirmaciones de recuperación, se pueden clasificar como productos de resistencia.
Señala que los compradores de productos deportivos están muy bien educados, y saben acerca de los beneficios del suero de leche, incluso si no ha sido oficializado por la EFSA.

Un informe reciente de 3A Business Consulting dice que el mercado de suero de leche valdría € 6880 millones en 2015 - un crecimiento del 4% anual a precios constantes desde 2010.
