El presidente del Frente Nacional de Productores y Consumidores de Leche, Álvaro González Muñoz, afirmó que los productores lecheros vigilan que la prohibición de más de 20 productos lácteos que realizó Profeco se cumpla, pues forman parte de una industria que creció de manera paralela a los lácteos originales.
González Muñoz aseveró que durante más de 15 años se denunció la existencia de estos productos “piratas” y, aunque hasta ahora se puso un freno, el gobierno debe ofrecer avances de este tipo de disposiciones para que no se conviertan en una simulación.
Dijo que no quieren que pase lo mismo que con el atún, que se hizo el anuncio, pero se desconoce cuál el estatus actual y esto puede convertirse en solo anuncios publicitarios que no benefician a los consumidores.
En el caso de la industria lechera y sus derivados, el líder gremia indicó que el mercado se inundó con una industria que utiliza sueros, harinas procesadas como la maltodextrina, grasas vegetales —en su mayoría grasas trans— y otros complementos que se vendían en productos simulados a los originales.
